What are ranks?
User ranks are used on Ancestorian to help you determine the quality and quantity of a members contributions. Every member of the community is Ancestorian is assigned a rank based on the points they earn for interacting with the site.

We thought naming our ranks after trees, ordered by height and density would be a nice way to connect ranks to the the name EvidenTREE
How do I earn a new rank?
Visit, participate, upload, merge... most actions you perform on Ancestorian will increase your points. As you hit specific targets, your rank notches up to the next level.
How many points do I need for each rank?
It's so much more fun when we don't tell you this. We will say as much as that ranks are changed at nice round numbers. Also, the first few ranks are easier to reach that the higher ones. Essentially, the more you do on the site, the more likely you are to reach a high rank.
Where can I see my rank?
Your rank is displayed on most pages in the 'Your Stats' section of the right sidebar. It is also displayed on your profile page.
Are there secret ranks that I might obtain?
If we told you, they wouldn't be secret. There are some special ranks that are reserved for staff and special helpers - these ranks are there so you know who you are dealing with.
There may be some other ranks... but you would need to earn them to find out.
