Ancestorian has more than one Search function. These differ from one another in terms of the content they will search.
The purpose of this Guide is to help you know which Search function to use to find what you are trying to find.
Searching for the Mention of Specific Words, Names or Hashtags Within a Discussion Feed
To Search for the mention of specific words, names or hashtags within a discussion feed, it is important to use the Search box at the top of the posts in the middle of the website.
Main Newsfeed
To search for mention of specific words, names or hashtags within the discussion posts in the main Newsfeed, locate the Search box towards the top of the page, immediately above the discussion posts:
Group Discussion Feed
Similarly, to search for mention of specific words, names or hashtags within a Group discussion feed, go into the Group itself and locate the Search box towards the top of the page, immediately above the group discussion posts. For example:
Discussion Feed within a Person’s Profile Pages
Similarly, to search for mention of specific words, names or hashtags within your own, or another member’s personal discussion feed, go into the Profile itself and locate the Search box towards the top of the page, immediately above the discussion posts. For example:
Searching for Blog posts and static content
To search for blog posts and static content, use the Search functions on the right-hand-side of the website –
Either: the magnifying glass Tab at the far right of the Tabs at the top of the Website:

The Search box just below the Tabs on the right-hand-side of the Website:
These Search options are available regardless of which Tab (News Feed, Articles (Blogs), Groups, You, Support, Messenger ), you have open.
Searching for Groups and Other Members of Ancestorian
You can search for Groups and for Members. This is done from within the 'Groups' Tab at the top of the Website:
